What are the highlights? How do you know what not to waste your money on? If you don't want to buy 20 games next month, here are my top three picks.

#3: Dishonored

Maybe this game doesn't make your list, but it should. I think the buzz for Dishonored has been a little light, which is a shame. The game has an amazing art style, a clever combat system, and an open-ended environment that sounds like be blast to explore. Check out our cover hub for more great info on the game.

#2: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
I've was fortunate enough get my hands on a final build of the game a couple weeks ago, and I've very impressed with it. I love every white-knuckled second I spend in battle, and I enjoyed the thrill of expanding my headquarters and leveling up my equipment. So far this might be my game of the year. Check out Adam's impressions after playing the first few hours, then go play the demo on Steam.

#1: Assassin's Creed III
I went back and forth on this one. I love XCOM, but if I had to pick just one game to play in October it would be Assassin's Creed. That series hasn't disappointed me yet, and everything I've seen so far tells me that this could be the biggest and most impressive entry in the series. Check out this developer documentary on Assassin's Creed III if you're not convinced.

Well that's my list. What's yours? What are you looking forward to in October? Or are you saving your money for November?

How I Create: Q&A With Career Coach Michelle WardWhat do you want to be when you grow up? That?s the question Michelle Ward, the When I Grow Up Coach, helps her clients answer. Ward is certified by the International Coach Federation. She?s spent over 750 hours coaching hundreds of creative people to devise the career they think they can?t have ? or discover it in the first place.

She?s also a musical theater actress with her BFA from NYU/Tisch. And she?s one of the most creative and passionate people I?ve had the pleasure of meeting online. Ward infuses everything she does with creativity and her enthusiastic one-of-a-kind approach.

Below, in our monthly series, Ward shares the behind-the-scenes of her creative process, how she overcomes the comparison trap, her powerful advice for readers and much more.

Ward also has served as an expert source and contributor for publications such as?Newsweek and Forbes and websites such as Yahoo!?and?AOL Jobs. She?s spoken at?SXSW, The World Domination Summit?and?Etsy Success Symposium.

1. ?Do you incorporate creativity-boosting activities into your daily routine? If so, what activities do you do?

You might wanna slap me for saying this, but I feel like everything I do centers around doing it creatively. I?ve built my business on writing and making videos and speaking and playing my pink ukulele?so every time I decide to work on something, I think about what I want to express and how. I wrote/filmed/edited a music video for?my communty site.

When I put my career change exercises into?workbook?form, I decided to make the whole freakin? thing (yes, all 50+ pages) rhyme.

When I offered? An Effective Escape: Leaving Your Day Job Without Living in Your Parents? Basement?for the first time, it was as a virtual workshop. I?m usually doing something around speaking, singing, or writing? but not in a do-a-creative-exercise-every-day way.

2. ?What are your inspirations for your work?

It depends on what I?m working on, but the things that are popping into my head? Dr. Seuss,?Cee Lo Green,?Garfunkel & Oates, Cee Lo Green, stuff from my childhood (I so wanna write a Choose Your Own Adventure Book!), Jessica Swift, Color Me Katie, Danielle LaPorte, Alexandra Franzen, my clients, Broadway?.oh, I?ll stop there now.

3.?There are many culprits that can crush creativity, such as distractions, self-doubt and fear of failure. What tends to stand in the way of your creativity?

The Comparison Vampire! Oh, I call the voices we have in our heads that suck the good stuff outta us Vampires, and The Comparison Vampire tends to be the worst of all.

Look at how professional?her?videos are. Look at how perfect?his copy is. Blech. It makes you wanna just throw in the towel and never write another word or speak another sentence or pluck another tune ever again.

4.?How do you overcome these obstacles?

I think a big part of it is being confident and authentic in what you?re doing. Sure, his copy might be ?perfect? and her videos might be ?professional,? but mine are 100 percent Michelle at all times, and I?m proud of what I produce.

I?m all there, singing or speaking or writing my heart out, and I?m confident that what I put out into the world represents my uniquity, my perspective, and my knowledge. Let?s face it: They?re not better than you, They?re?different. Two separate things.

5. ?What are some of your favorite resources on creativity?

Anything that Keri Smith puts out is worth picking up and working through. It looks easy on the surface to follow her exercises (i.e. smear food on this page of the book, tie a string around the book and take it for a walk, etc.), but actually confronts our Vampires and can be a great (yet scary!) learning experience.

I also recommend the Right Brain Business Plan?to any and all creative entrepreneurs (I have one!), aspiring or otherwise. The Artist in the Office is also a must for those of us barely surviving our day jobs, and nothing beats The Artist?s Way for tapping into your inner creative.

6. ?What is your favorite way to get your creative juices flowing?

For writing, I keep tons of images with inspiring sayings on a Pinterest board, and that?ll be my first stop if I need something to write about. For my songs, I tend to have an idea as to what I wanna sing about (it?s recently been about my?boob cancer, oddly enough), and then rhymes come to me on the subway, when I?m about to fall asleep, or in the shower. I always have my iPhone handy to take notes.

7. ?What?s your advice for readers on cultivating creativity?

Don?t wait for lightening to strike or the perfect moment where inspiration knocks you over ? because it often doesn?t happen that way. Instead, show up to do the work and start wherever feels easiest.

Sometimes I start a blog post in the middle because the beginning just won?t come to me. Sometimes I write a song with the chorus leading the way because the verses are elusive. Do something every day for a small bite of time (yes, you can?get a lot accomplished in 15 minutes a day, thankyouverymuch) and you?ll be able to have a tangible product in no time.

Also, don?t be married to the format. Sometimes I know I need to write a blog post, but writing feels hard in that moment?so I make a video instead. Pay attention to what feels fun and easy at the time, and know if you move forward with that it?s not cheating.

8. ?Anything else you?d like readers to know about creativity?

Wanna know a secret? You?re creative. You might not believe me, but it?s true! We all have it in us?just start believing that I?m talking to you when I mention ?creative people,? start exploring in a fun and easy way, and you?ll be able to own that title more than you think!

Syria: Fighting rages on in Aleppo after fire guts UNESCO site

Fresh fighting in Syria's commercial capital has claimed at least five more lives, according to activists.?

By Jamal Halaby,?Associated Press / September 30, 2012

Free Syrian Army fighters drink tea next to closed shops, at the souk of the old city of Aleppo city, Syria on Sept. 24. Fires sparked by clashes between government troops and rebels raged through the medieval marketplace of Aleppo on this weekend, destroying hundreds of shops lining the vaulted passageways where foods, fabrics, perfumes and spices have been sold for centuries, activists said.

Fighting between Syrian rebels and government forces killed at least five people in the embattled northern city of Aleppo, activists said Sunday.

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the dead included a man who has been shot by a sniper near the city's medieval citadel earlier in the day. Several homes were also destroyed in the violence, the Observatory said.

The country's commercial capital and largest city, Aleppo is home to some 3 million people and was once a bastion of support for President Bashar Assad. But the city has been hit by fierce fighting since rebels launched an offensive there in July.

Syria's?state news agency says Assad's troops have carried out a "successful operation" in western Aleppo against "terrorist gatherings" ??a reference to the rebel Free Syrian Army. SANA said several rebels had been killed or wounded in the violence, but gave no other details.

On Saturday, a fire sparked by battles between Assad's troops and rebels tore through Aleppo's centuries-old covered market, one of the best-preserved bazaars in the Middle East. It was the worst blow yet to the city's historic center and to a UNESCO World Heritage site in?Syria.

The heightened violence in Aleppo drew criticism from the city's industrialists of "insufficient" government protection provided to factories and other businesses in the area.

Businesses call for security

Fares al-Shihabi, head of Aleppo's Chamber of Industry, told?Syria's?pro-government al-Watan daily that several previous calls on the government for increased protection against "daily armed attacks" on industrial estates "have gone unanswered."

In response, the chamber was forced to hire guards around-the-clock to protect the businesses against attacks by looters, he added.

Rami Martini, chief of Aleppo's Chamber of Tourism, warned of the vulnerability of tourist sites in the area. He told al-Watan that the violence in Aleppo has "dealt a blow in every sense of the word" to the country's tourism sector.

The Aleppo market, a major tourist attraction with its narrow stone alleys and stores selling perfume, fabrics, and spices, had been the site of occasional gun battles and shelling for weeks. But amateur video posted Saturday showed wall-to-wall flames engulfing wooden doors as burning debris fell away from the storefronts. Activists said hundreds of shops were affected.

The souk is one of a half-dozen renowned cultural sites in?Syria?that have become collateral damage in the civil war.

Elsewhere in?Syria, the Observatory for Human Rights said a "strong explosion" rattled the northeastern city of Qamishli on the Turkish border. It said the explosion appeared to be caused by a booby-trapped car but that it was not immediately clear whether there were any casualties.

The Observatory said a handful of civilians were killed in violence in Homs and other areas across the country. In the restive southern town of Daraa ??the city where?Syria's?anti-Assad uprising began with peaceful protests in March 2011 ??tens of homes that belong to rebels were destroyed in the town of Mezereeb, the group added.

Calif. creates state-run private retirement plan

(AP) ? California Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation Friday that will create the nation's first state-administered retirement savings program for private-sector workers, over the objection of critics who said it creates a new liability for taxpayers.

The bill will establish the California Secure Choice Retirement Savings Program for more than 6 million lower-income, private-sector workers whose employers do not offer retirement plans.

The program directs employers to withhold 3 percent of their workers' pay unless the employee opts out of the savings program, which can be done every two years. It would be administered by a seven-member board chaired by the state treasurer. The board would select a professional fund manager, which could be a private investment firm or the state's public pension system, to maintain the money.

State Sen. Kevin De Leon, D-Los Angeles, introduced the bill earlier this year in response to what he called the "looming retirement tsunami" as millions of lower-wage workers face financial hardship in their retirement years. He said the program will act as a supplement to Social Security by offering private-sector workers a portable savings plan with a guaranteed return.

He said the program is not a pension but rather acts as a savings account, which could be a national model for improving retirement savings.

"This is a major step forward for retirement security in America," De Leon said in a statement. "I am grateful for Gov. Brown's acumen and with his leadership we are setting the path for middle class hard-working Americas to prepare for retirement so they won't be forced into poverty."

State Sen. Mimi Walters, R-Lake Forest, called SB1234 the "worst bill to make its way out of the legislature this year" because it would allow the state's main pension system to invest the money.

Walters noted that the California Public Employees' Retirement System is running a shortfall and that the savings program will be controlled by a group of "career politicians."

"SB1234 looks like nothing more than a cynical effort to prop up the floundering public employee pension debt with new funds from private investors," Walters wrote in a blog ahead of the bill signing.

Many cities and counties already pool their contributions along with the state in the public pension system, but taxpayers are on the hook to cover public employee benefits if investment projections fall short.

It's too soon to say what would happen if CalPERS managed the new retirement program, said pension fund's spokesman, Brad Pacheco. CalPERS could create a separate account for private-sector workers, although it's more likely to pool investments with public employees.

CalPERS' fund posted an annual return of just 1 percent last year, missing its own long-term annual target of 7.5 percent. It currently has an estimated long-term unfunded liability of $100 billion.

Democratic lawmakers said the program gives workers more savings options, particularly women working low-paying jobs. Supporters say it will not cost the state money because it will be backed by underwriters and reinsured to protect returns. De Leon noted that the money would be placed into low-risk investments with interest guaranteed at a low rate tied to long-term Treasury bond yields.

Participants would also have to sign a liability waiver stating that California would not be liable for losses.

The bill would not be implemented unless the savings program is projected to be self-sustaining and exempt from federal rules that cover private-sector defined benefit plans. Such plans have to meet minimum standards under the federal Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

The bill also requires the board to submit an annual audit. It was initially opposed by businesses, insurance companies and financial services firms. Business groups such as the California Chamber of Commerce dropped opposition after changes were made to the bill, according to De Leon's staff.

The governor also signed companion legislation under SB923.

Republican lawmakers who opposed the program when it was moving through the Legislature said low-income workers might be better off financially if they put after-tax earnings into a Roth IRA, which would allow them to take their contributions tax-free in retirement.

They also said there were too many unanswered questions about the program. GOP lawmakers said if the underwriter fails to meet investment targets, taxpayers and employers could be held responsible for covering losses and administrative overhead.

Man behind anti-Muslim film ordered jailed

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? A federal judge on Thursday ordered the man behind a crudely produced anti-Islamic video that inflamed parts of the Middle East to be detained because he is a flight risk.

U.S. Central District Chief Magistrate Judge Suzanne Segal ordered Nakoula Basseley Nakoula held after authorities said he violated terms of his probation.

Nakoula, 55, was convicted in 2010 for federal check and sentenced to 21 months in prison. Under terms of his probation, he was not allowed to use computers or the Internet for five years without approval from his probation officer.

Nakoula was arrested after federal probation officials determined he violated the terms of his supervised release, Thomas Mrozek, a U.S. Attorney's spokesman in Los Angeles, said Thursday.

Protests have erupted around the Middle East over a 14-minute trailer for "Innocence of Muslims," which depicts Muhammad as a womanizer, religious fraud and child molester. Though the trailer was posted to YouTube in July, the violence didn't break out until Sept. 11 and has spread since, killing dozens.

Nakoula, a Christian originally from Egypt, went into hiding after he was identified as the man behind the trailer.

The full story about Nakoula and the video still isn't known.

Conservatives Fund backs Akin in Mo. Senate bid

Claire McCaskill. (AP Photo/Jeff Roberson, File)

(AP) ? A conservative fundraising group backed embattled Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin with as much as $290,000 for his campaign Thursday. But Akin handed new fundraising fodder to his foes by suggesting that Sen. Claire McCaskill had behaved in a less "ladylike" manner than she has in the past.

Akin contrasted McCaskill's demeanor in their first debate last week with her approach six years ago.

"She was very aggressive in the debate, which was quite different than the way she was when she ran against Jim Talent" in 2006, Akin said during a campaign stop Thursday at the state capitol. At that time, he added, "she had a confidence and was very much more sort of ladylike and all."

Akin's comment came moments after the Senate Conservatives Fund announced it was endorsing him. It was the highest-profile financial commitment Akin has netted since his campaign lost millions of dollars of planned advertising by other national groups that aid Republicans. Those groups withdrew their support after Akin remarked last month that women's bodies have ways of averting pregnancy in cases of "legitimate rape."

Akin has apologized repeatedly since then but defied demands from top Republicans ? including presidential nominee Mitt Romney ? to quit the race. He's hoping his campaign can gain momentum now that he has let pass Tuesday's final deadline to drop out of the race. But staying in the contest has left Romney, running mate Paul Ryan and the rest of the GOP hierarchy in an awkward position.

The "ladylike" comment complicated Akin's efforts and the broader contest for control of the Senate. Republicans need to gain four seats to win the majority, a task that seemed within reach a few months ago but has now grown uncertain, in part because of Akin's campaign.

At the Missouri Capitol on Thursday, Akin said he believes he will get the votes of Republicans and Romney supporters and defeat McCaskill, who has close ties to President Barack Obama. Akin said thinks McCaskill believes he can win, too. He cited as evidence McCaskill's demeanor in a Missouri Press Association debate Sept. 21, contrasting it with the way she debated then-Sen. Jim Talent in 2006.

"In the debate we had Friday, she came out swinging, and I think that's because she was threatened," Akin said.

McCaskill's campaign did not immediately comment about the remark, but others quickly denounced it. Washington Sen. Patty Murray, who is chairwoman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, called it "demeaning to women and offensive to all."

Emily's List, which backs Democratic candidates who support abortion rights, quickly incorporated the remark into an email fundraising plea to finance more TV ads against Akin.

"Ladylike?! This is a Senate race, not a beauty pageant, Todd," the group's new media director Emily Lockwood said in the email.

The Senate Conservatives Fund said it endorsed Akin because he is the Republican nominee, the race against McCaskill remains competitive and Missouri is important to Republican efforts to gain the four seats necessary to win control of the Senate. The organization said its members had pledged $290,000 toward Akin's campaign, and it hopes to get $100,000 to Akin by Sunday, which is the cutoff for the quarterly financial reporting period.

Akin said he was thankful and "very enthusiastic" about winning the group's support.

"I think it's logical_I am a conservative, they're conservatives, I think it's a common-sense type of thing," Akin said.

The fund has gained prominence in recent years with the aid of Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., a favorite among tea party activists. Among other things, the Senate Conservatives Fund supports a ban on congressional spending earmarks, which use legislation to direct particular amounts of money to specific entities in a particular state or congressional district.

Akin has used earmarks in the past to direct funding to such things as highway projects and military armor, although he and Matt Hoskins, the executive director of the Senate Conservatives Fund, both have said Akin supports the group's ban on earmarks.

Akin said Thursday that he's against amendments that are slipped into bills at the last moment that direct money to specific projects, particularly if joint House and Senate conference committees add items that weren't in versions that originally passed the chambers. But he added: "Don't take the definition (of earmark) so broadly that the members of Congress don't have any input into the budget process."

The aid from the Senate Conservatives Fund follows Akin's endorsement Wednesday by DeMint and former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, whose Patriot Voices political action committee said it was contributing money to Akin and hiring staff to work in Missouri. The Freedom's Defense Fund, which backs conservative candidates, also said earlier this week that it planned a $250,000 advertising campaign benefiting Akin.

But Akin will need even more outside help to keep pace with Democratic-leaning groups supporting McCaskill.

Emily's List and the Service Employees International Union issued a joint statement Thursday saying they had bought $1 million in ads in support of McCaskill to run in the state's largest TV markets.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which already has spent about $1 million on TV ads in Missouri, has reserved $4.3 million of additional advertising to begin running Oct. 9.

U.S. actress sues anti-Islam filmmaker, YouTube in federal court

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - An actress who said she was duped into appearing in an anti-Islam film that stoked violent protests across the Muslim world took her legal bid to federal court on Wednesday in a renewed effort to force it off YouTube.

The lawsuit filed by Cindy Lee Garcia names the popular online video site YouTube and its parent company Google Inc. as defendants, along with the Egyptian-American Coptic Christian from California believed to be behind the making of the film.

Last week, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge denied Garcia's request for a temporary restraining order that would have required YouTube to stop posting the crudely made 13-minute video, finding the actress was unlikely to prevail on the merits of her case in state court.

As in her previous lawsuit, Garcia accused the purported filmmaker of fraud, libel and unfair business practices. But her federal lawsuit also asserts a copyright claim to her performance in the video, titled "The Innocence of Muslims."

Garcia's case was the first known civil litigation stemming from the video, billed as a film trailer, which depicts the Prophet Mohammad as a fool and a sexual deviant. The clip sparked a torrent of anti-American unrest in Egypt, Libya and dozens of other Muslim countries over the past two weeks.

The outbreak of violence coincided with an attack on U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi that killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya.

U.S. and other foreign embassies were also stormed in various cities across the Middle East, Asia and Africa. For many Muslims, any depiction of the prophet is considered blasphemous.

Google has refused to remove the film from YouTube, despite pressure from the White House and others to take it down, though the company has blocked the trailer in Egypt, Libya and other Muslim countries.

COPYRIGHT ISSUE

Garcia's lawyer argued in court last week that her client, who is from Bakersfield, California, has suffered harm similar to a person whose privacy is violated by the unauthorized release of a sex tape.

But Google's attorneys said that the rights of an actor do not protect that person from how a film is perceived.

In her latest lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Santa Clara, California, Garcia says that Google is infringing on the copyright she holds to her performance in the film by distributing the video without her approval via YouTube.

Garcia's lawsuit identifies Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, a Los Angeles-area Coptic man who has served time in federal prison for bank fraud, as the film's producer.

On Saturday, a Pakistani cleric offered a $100,000 reward to anyone who killed the film's maker. Garcia said in her lawsuit that an Egyptian cleric had issued a fatwa, or religious edict, against anyone who served as a director, producer or actor in the video.

According to Garcia, Nakoula operated under the assumed name of Sam Bacile, misleading her and other actors into appearing in a film they believed was an adventure drama called "Desert Warrior."

After the fact, however, she learned that some of her lines spoken in the production had been dubbed over.

The alteration made it look like Garcia "voluntarily performed in a hateful, anti-Islamic production," the lawsuit says, adding that she has "been subjected to credible death threats and is in fear for her life and the life and safety of anyone associated with her."

Nakoula has been in hiding for much of the past two weeks after being questioned by federal authorities looking into whether he may have violated terms of his probation in the making or promotion of the video.

The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) is outrageously easy to support ? or at least, it should be. ?VAWA protects all women living in the U.S. from harm. ?It provides programs and services for survivors of violence: rape crisis centers, hotlines, legal aid, and protection from eviction, among other things.?

VAWA also illustrates an important link between women?s rights and immigrant rights. ?Fearing retribution by both their abusers and immigration authorities, immigrant women are far less likely to speak up and seek help. By providing special attention to the difficult situation faced by immigrant women who are victims of violence, ?VAWA makes it possible for thousands of immigrant women to escape dangerous, violent situations every year.?

VAWA is the compassionate heart of our country?s efforts to protect women?s basic human right to safety, and Congress renewed it in both 2000 and 2005. ?So why is it in danger of not being renewed again this year?

Immigrant women who survive serious crimes (domestic violence, rape, torture) and who help law enforcement investigate and prosecute those crimes can get a special form of protection through VAWA, called a U visa. ?This allows women to testify against their attackers without fear of negative immigration consequences; it also grants them legal status and work eligibility.

Earlier this year, conservative House Republicans moved to block VAWA?s reauthorization because they objected to these protections for immigrant women; they also objected to protections for same-sex couples.

VAWA?s U visa provision is a rare expression of one our county?s highest values: that protecting women?s lives and bringing domestic violence criminals to justice are paramount, regardless of immigration status. ?In a landscape of increasingly restrictive immigration laws across the country, VAWA upholds and honors the contributions of immigrant women to our society.

Why worry about this now? A resolution may not come until after the November general election, but that doesn?t change the fact that thousands of immigrant women urgently need the protections VAWA has provided for many years. ?Women have been in limbo since late August, when the last of the 10,000 U visas available annually was approved. ?This is the third year in a row we have hit this ceiling, and the earliest date that U visas have ever run out. ?Clearly this is a much-needed and well-utilized protection that benefits the women who receive it AND the law enforcement efforts they assist.

There is urgent need for protection for women like Juana Villegas:

?In July 2008, a routine police stop ? triggered Villegas? arrest for a traffic violation and not having a driver?s license. Villegas was an undocumented immigrant. The charges were later dropped. Two days after her arrest, authorities shackled her wrists and ankles during an ambulance ride to a hospital, shortly before she went into labor.?

Villegas is currently awaiting approval for her U visa. ?(Legal Voice fought successfully against the practice of shackling of pregnant & laboring women in Washington state.)

Advocates are not letting VAWA fall by the wayside. ?As Washington Senator Maria Cantwell said, ?We're mad, and we're tired of it.? ? Women?s rights and immigrants? rights are (and should be!) a bipartisan issue ? so it?s encouraging to see Republican Utah attorney general Mark Shurtleff team up with Democratic Maryland attorney general Doug Gansler to demand VAWA?s reauthorization with expanded protections for immigrant women: ?All women who have lived through violence and abuse should have the certainty that the law will protect them ? no matter their race, creed, color, religion or immigration status.?

Let?s continue joining our movements together to support immigrant women. ?This important women?s and immigrants? rights legislation deserves our focused attention and spirited defense. ?United, advocates for women?s and immigrants? rights can make the biggest impact on preserving the right to be safe.

Travelers Often Unaware of Voided Terrorism Benefits, Says Squaremouth

Travelers often purchase policies with terrorism benefits and mistakenly believe they will be covered in the event of an attack. However, these benefits do not always guarantee coverage.

St. Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) September 25, 2012

The recent terrorist attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, which left the ambassador and three other Americans dead, is an unfortunate reminder of the continued violence of the region. It is critical that Americans take extra precautions when traveling to countries with Department of State travel warnings, such as Libya. According to travel insurance comparison site, Squaremouth, travelers often purchase policies with terrorism benefits and mistakenly believe they will be covered in the event of an attack. However, these benefits do not always guarantee coverage. International violence is an important factor in travel insurance benefits and there may be coverage exclusions that travelers are not aware of.

Due to the greater risks associated with travel in some regions, many providers have added policy restrictions which void coverage in specific countries. For example, Seven Corners currently excludes coverage in 23 high-risk regions, including The Democratic Republic of Congo, North Korea, and Iraq. Similarly, Travelex does not cover travel to countries with U.S. travel restrictions, including Iran, Libya, North Korea, Syria and Cuba.

?It is critical to pay attention to these coverage exclusions when purchasing a policy,? explains Chris Harvey, CEO of Squaremouth. ?If a claim is made for travel which took place in an excluded country, travelers must understand that a policy may not be honored.?

In addition to country exclusions, there are other restrictions to be aware of. Some policies include a ?terrorism? benefit which can be claimed if a terrorist attack occurs in a city specifically listed on a traveler?s itinerary. Travelers frequently seek out this benefit when traveling to areas with known violence. However, few are aware that some policies void this benefit if the attack occurs in a region where the U.S. Department of State has issued a travel warning. Depending on the provider, coverage is only available if the attack occurs during a traveler?s trip or if it happens within seven to thirty days of scheduled departure.

When purchasing a travel insurance policy with terrorism coverage, travelers should read certificates carefully and contact insurance providers with questions. Squaremouth representatives are available Monday through Friday, from 9am-9pm ET, to assist travelers with questions on any of the 250+ policies available on squaremouth.com.

Asset Protection Planning - Estate Planning 123

In today's litigious society, there is virtually no way to anticipate how your assets are exposed to potential creditors. ?If you own a business or practice a profession (medical, legal, accounting, engineering, or architecture), it is truly impossible to foresee the financial pitfalls that exist. ?Even though many businesses are operated as corporations or limited liability companies (which traditionally offer protection from business debts), there is a growing trend toward attaching certain business liabilities to the business owner. ?For example, certain tax obligations can attach to the business owner, as well as liability for sexual harassment lawsuits (even if the unlawful acts were committed by a non-owner employee), and a wide variety of environmental regulations routinely impute liability to the business owner.

Although most business owners are careful and diligent about how they run their company, we simply cannot ignore the wide variety of risks that the owner is exposed to. ?For that reason alone, it makes sense to learn more about asset protection planning, and decide if any of these strategies are appropriate for you.

Late TDs lead Colorado over Washington State

PULLMAN ? Colorado quarterback Jordan Webb had the option of throwing or running when he went behind center with 12 seconds left and his team trailing Washington State by six on Saturday.

"I saw the box was thin, so I checked to a run play," Webb said.

He ran 4 yards untouched into the end zone, the last of three Colorado touchdowns in the final 7 minutes, to lift the Buffaloes over Washington State 35-34 on Saturday in the Pac-12 Conference opener for both teams.

"I knew the offensive line was going to block, like they had all day," said Webb, who ran for two touchdowns and threw for two others in the upset. Washington State was favored by 19 going into the game.

Colorado (1-3) had been all but given up for dead after losing its first three games, including last week's 69-14 loss to Fresno State.

"A week ago they were putting the last shovel of dirt on us," said Colorado coach Jon Embree. "I always felt we were better than we were showing."

Washington State led 31-14 midway through the fourth quarter. Then the Buffaloes scored three touchdowns in the final 7:06 to pull out the win.

Connor Halliday threw four touchdown passes for Washington State (2-2), which was looking for its first three-game winning streak since 2006.

"We're a mentally weak team," WSU coach Mike Leach said. "That's got to change."

"We want to go complacent when we get ahead and panic when something good happens for the other guy," Leach added. "We are afraid to win."

It was the third consecutive game in which WSU led in the first half and let the other team close on them in the second. But they managed to hold on in victories over Eastern Washington and UNLV.

Colorado put up 531 total yards, compared to 451 for Washington State.

Webb completed 29 of 42 passes for 345 yards, and was intercepted once. He was sacked six times.

Washington State was ahead 34-28 when Colorado took over on its 30 and marched to the WSU 4. On fourth down, Webb bootlegged up the middle for a touchdown to tie the score. Will Oliver's extra point gave Colorado its first lead, 35-34, with 9 seconds left.

Colorado had pulled within 31-28 on Webb's 70-yard touchdown pass to Nick Kasa midway through the fourth quarter, followed by Tony Jones' 84-yard scoring run with 4:23 left. On the ensuing kickoff, the Cougars wasted Teondray Caldwell's 56-yard return and had to settle for Andrew Furney's 42-yard field goal. That set up Webb's final drive and touchdown run.

The game was played in air thick with smoke from wildfires 200 miles away in central Washington.

Halliday completed 32 of 60 passes for 401 yards and was intercepted twice. Washington State has so far shown only flashes of Leach's high-flying "Air Raid" offense.

Washington State scored on its first possession, when a scrambling Halliday hit Gabe Marks in the end zone with a 32-yard pass for a 7-0 lead. Colorado replied with a crisp 75-yard drive that ended when Webb connected with Nelson Spruce on a 16-yard touchdown to tie the score. Webb completed all five of his passes on the drive.

Halliday was intercepted near the Colorado goal line by Jered Bell on WSU's next possession. Colorado's drive stalled at WSU's 13 and Will Oliver missed the 30-yard field goal attempt.

Marquess Wilson caught a 23-yard scoring pass from Halliday as WSU took a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter.

Colorado fumbled the ball away at its own 39 on its next possession. Halliday's 15-yard touchdown pass to Isiah Myers put WSU ahead 21-7 with 11:48 left in the first half. The drive was kept alive when Halliday hit Myers on fourth-and-8 for an 11-yard gain.

In the third, Carl Winston fumbled deep in WSU territory on the Cougars' first possession, and Terrel Smith picked the ball up on the 10 and ran it down to the 1. Webb ran the ball over on the next play as Colorado closed to within 21-14.

Furney missed a 53-yard field goal attempt for WSU on their next possession.

Daniel Simmons intercepted Webb on the next series, and Halliday threw a short pass to Wilson, who turned it into a 49-yard touchdown reception and a 28-14 lead for Washington State.

A shanked punt gave WSU possession on Colorado's 30, but the Cougars couldn't move the ball and settled for Furney's 45-yard field goal and a 31-14 lead early in the fourth, setting the stage for the Buffaloes' comeback.
