The eastern and central PA regions have been abuzz with auto events in the month of August. This weekend in Macungie, is the annual Wheels of Time Rod and Custom Show. Recently we had the Great Pottsville Cruise and Das Awkscht Fescht. The Great Pottsville Cruise and Wheels of Times shows, highlight the custom creations of automotive enthusiasts. There are many disciplines in the classic car culture. The classic automobile is a blank slate for the creativity of a gearhead. Some of those include, authentic restorations, rat rods, hot rods, resto-mods, and pro-touring. The pro-touring restoration creates some of the biggest buzz among builders. General Motors' cars of the late 1960's and 70's are the most popular pro-tourers, the Nova and Chevelle in particular. These vehicles are restored from original condition using the stock body, while being upgraded with the newest tech in suspension, powertrain, interior and info-tainment electronics. These vehicles ride like a dream and handle corners with the precision of the newest sports car. The powertrains are often the newest engines and transmissions from GM Performance, providing?extraordinary?horsepower and torque numbers. The new ECU's and Direct Injection systems provide fuel and power management that was never imaginable in the carbureted powerplants in stock form. These vehicles are exciting machines that blend nostalgic bodies with new technology and ultra modern equipment. Below are some of our favorite examples we have seen. You should get out see what's out there. Join R&R in supporting the automotive enthusiast by admiring their hard work and creativity.
